Installation

The PowerFlex 700S is often installed with input fuses or a circuit breaker. Additional restrictions for these systems may be imposed by national and local industrial safety rules and/or electrical codes.

Protection Against Peak Voltage for the Motors Having Lower Insulation Systems

Even though the PowerFlex 700S Phase II drive uses the best-reflected wave reduction technologies, few motors may possess systems of insulation that fall well short of NEMA/UL requirements. In installations containing sensitive components i.e., weighing machines, capacitive proximity, and other equipment that can be impacted by electrical noise in the distribution system, the shielded cable needs to be strongly considered. Applications that have a high extent of communications/networking-mandated EMC restrictions, or a large number of drives within a comparable area are also suitable candidates for shielded cables used.

Power Wiring
