The Allen-Bradley 1336F-BRF150-AE-EN is an adjustable frequency AC drive that can be used for speed control and torque control applications. It is generally used in conjunction with motors and other electrical components to control rotational speeds and torques within the control system. The AC drive achieves speed control by adjusting the frequency of the input signal supplied to the motor. The AC drive must be mounted in a NEMA Type 1 IP20 rated enclosure that has slots designed to hold the drive. The device must be installed a certain distance away from other high voltage sources within the enclosure to prevent control logic noise from affecting the performance characteristics of the drive. A heat sink thermistor is also provided within the drive system to monitor the heating rate of the microprocessor. This prevents damage that can be caused to the drive due to the overheating of the system’s components.

The Allen-Bradley 1336F-BRF150-AE-EN is designed to operate on an input power supply of alternating current with a rated voltage ranging from 380 volts to 480 volts. A three-phase power supply system is preferred to power the drive, and the operator must ensure that the line voltages of the power supply are symmetrical. In order to protect and insulate the device from external and internal voltages and surges, surge suppression devices are used to protect the device from overvoltages caused by high power environmental sources such as lightning. A terminal block is used to provide slots for input and output wiring connections.
