The 1398 ULTRA Series of servo drives includes the ULTRA 100 series. On the front panel of this module, there is a 3-level LED display. Weighing only 3.7 lbs, this module is the lightest drive in the 1398 ULTRA Series. This Allen-Bradley module, with the part number 1398-DDM-005, is a small sized servo drive. This module's maximum heat usage is around 48 watts and the AC (alternating current) input voltage is one hundred (100) to two hundred and forty (240) volts AC rms single-phase at a frequency of 43 to 63 hertz. After the incoming power is discharged, the DC bus capacitor may endure a high voltage, but it will normally discharge in only a matter of a few seconds. This module's speed control spans from 0 to 32.767 rpm. The AC input current of the module is 5 amperes, and all of the Ultra 100 series drives have a bus voltage of 141 to 339 volts direct current (DC). This module also provides overvoltage and under-voltage protection for the bus. The 1398-DDM-005 is compatible with programmable logic controllers, otherwise known as PLCs. This Allen-Bradley drive includes various features, including an I/O digital channel which enables the customization of the drive for customers to meet their specific applications, a touchpad for monitoring and modifying the drive, and a fault-detection function. An external power source of 12 to 24 volts direct current should be used to power the I/O. It is important to note that cleaning the inside of the module of dust and filth is one of the obligatory maintenance procedures. Also, check the condition of the cable insulation and connectors on a regular basis.
