The Rockwell Automation 20-750-UFB-1 is a universal feedback module that is compatible with PowerFlex 750 and Stegmann, Heidenhan, SSI, Biss, and 5V incremental encoders. This Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller module works in single increments. In the PowerFlex drives this is specifically used with 755 drives only. Normally, homing and registration functionality is not provided when using devices with Studio 5000 Logix Designed in-built motion instructions. Therefore, the Universal Feedback Board (20-750-UFB-1) is required. The module has two status indications - one for the status of the module board and the other shows the DPI communication interface status. There are DIP switches on the module that are used for configuration and setup. The feedback signal connections are made to the primary safety channel. The DIP switch settings are switched to ON for S1 and S3 and switched OFF for S2 in that case. On the other hand, if the connection from the feedback are to be made with the secondary safety channel, then S1, S2, and S3 are set to OFF, ON, and ON. All three switches are in ON mode in case the feedback signal is connected to both the primary and secondary channels. The module can be used in many other combinations when linked with the PowerFlex 755 drives system. The unit is capable of utilizing its two feedback options and I/O in ports 4 to 6. This changes to ports 4 and 5 when in addition to the two feedback options and I/O; one safe torque-off option is also used. One safe speed monitor option can also be used with the two feedback options and I/O with the same 4 and 5 ports.
