About

The 20-COMM-P is an Allen-Bradley Profibus communication card adapter for the PowerFlex 70 and PowerFlex 700 drive series. This Allen-Bradley Profibus 20-COMM-P Communication Card Adapter can be locked into the desired drive or used with an external communication rack. The 20-COMM-P adapter uses a total of 350 milliamps at 5 Volts Direct Current when supplied by the host drive. The Allen-Bradley Profibus 20-COMM-P Communication Card Adapter uses the Profibus protocol, and it boasts a data transfer rate between 9.6 and 500 Kilobytes per second (Kbs).

The 20-COMM-P has a maximum temperature range of -10 to 50 degrees Celsius as well as an operational humidity range from 5 percent to a maximum of 95 percent when not at risk for water condensation. In all cases, the Allen-Bradley Profibus 20-COMM-P Communication Card Adapter should be deployed in a clean and dry area away from any corrosive gases or particles. The Profibus must also be grounded to prevent damage or anomalies such as electromagnetic interference during system operation. The dimensions of the Allen-Bradley Profibus 20-COMM-P Communication Card Adapter are 19 millimeters by 86 millimeters, with a width of 78.5 millimeters. The Allen-Bradley Profibus 20-COMM-P Communication Card Adapter is configurable through the use of a compatible Human Machine Interface (HMI). The 20-COMM-P is designed for a simple, straightforward installation. Nonetheless, it is recommended by the manufacturer that only qualified technicians undertake the installation process.
