The Allen-Bradley 20-COMM-R PowerFlex 7 series Remote Input/Output Adapter is manufactured by Rockwell Automation for use with the popular Allen-Bradley Powerflex 7 series of drives. This remote I/O adapter has a standard mounting mechanism, using captive screws to secure the module to its ground. The Allen-Bradley 20-COMM-R PowerFlex 7 series Remote Input/Output Adapter includes a range of status indicators to keep the operator apprised of drive communications status, network status, adapter status. This unit also provides access to any PowerFlex drive connected to the same communications network, offering moderate communications speeds in the form of a 57.7 kilobytes per second minimum network baud rate and a maximum rate of 230.4 kilobytes per second. This unit has a dual data rate of either 125 kilobytes per second or 500 kilobytes per second.
At peak, the Allen-Bradley 20-COMM-R PowerFlex 7 series Remote Input/Output Adapter consumes 250 milliamps of current at 5 Volts DC. Because of its sensitivity to electrostatic discharge, as well as atmospheric contaminants and caustic chemicals, it is vital that appropriate safeguards are used in working on or siting the unit. This device should not be installed in areas with high electrostatic potential, nor in hairs with significant dust impingement or corrosive vapours or gases.
