The Allen-Bradley 2711-T6C9L1 terminal is an electronic device used to communicate and coordinate activities and tasks within the control system. The terminal possesses a non-volatile application flash memory of 240 kilobytes. The memory and storage capabilities of the terminal can be further enhanced by using an external memory card. A slot is provided in the enclosure of the device to house additional storage equipment. This memory card can be used to transfer and save instructions, data, and log files. The touch screen is highly sophisticated and versatile and can be used to operate the devices used in the control system. The touch screen consists of 128 sensitive touch cells that can be activated by the user. The cells are arranged in a matrix of 16 columns and 8 rows and can be used to activate applications that control the functions of the system. The device can be operated on a DH+ network and messages can be relayed to trigger functions and operations involving system actuation. A display screen with a resolution of 320 x 234 pixels and state-of-the-art touch screen functionality ensures that the user can exercise complete control over the components of the system. An RS-232 printer is configured with the terminal and a dedicated RS-232 port is also provided to operate I/O devices over the DH+ network.
