The 2711PC-RP1 is the PanelView Plus logic module that was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This device contains two (2) universal serial bus (USB) ports. These USB ports are in compliant with hazardous site environments. This logic module also includes an RS-232 serial port. This RS-232 port is a 9-pin, male connector. This port is used for serial connections to facilitate DH-485 communications, modem connections between a terminal and a controller, and point-to-point communications. This RS-232 serial port also allows for uploading and downloading of applications via a direct connection as well as printing. It also has an embedded RJ45 Ethernet / IP connector that supports Ethernet links with 10 megabits per second (Mbps) and 100 megabits per second (Mbps) Ethernet speed. This port allows terminal network communication over Ethernet / IP. Third-party Ethernet connectivity, network connections, application uploading/downloading, and printing are all supported through the module's Ethernet port.

This is a DC-powered module. It has a power port to connect a DC power supply. The non-isolated DC power supply, Class 2 /Safety Extra-Low Voltage (SELV) isolated power source, is needed for this module. This power supply must have a terminal voltage ranging from 18 volts to 32 volts. The nominal voltage of this power supply should be 24 volts. This compact terminal can consume up to 70 watts of power. This module has an available memory consisting of 64 megabytes (MB) of flash memory, as well as 64 megabytes of RAM, or random-access memory. This module has a Type 1 CompactFlash card slot to allow for external memory of up to 512 megabytes (MB).
