Allen-Bradley manufactured the 1734-RTB removable terminal block (RTB). It belongs to the 1734 series component that is often used in conjunction with a points I/O mounting base. This 1734-RTB is often attached to the mounting base to create a terminal base assembly. This is an open-type module with eight poles and a field power supply voltage that varies between 120 and 240 volts AC and 24 volts DC. The 1734-RTB incorporates a screw clamp for connection and a maximum field power source current of 10 amperes. The terminal base screw tension for this module is about 0.6 N-m (or, 7 pounds on 1 inch), and it is wired in category 2. The 1734-RTB accepts wire sizes ranging from 14 AWG (2.5 square millimeters) through 22 AWG (0.25 square millimeters), solid or stranded, and must be rated to a minimum of 75 degrees Centigrade, but ideally higher. The 1734-RTB has a maximum insulation thickness of 1.2 millimeters and is installed using a DIN rail setup and mounting base.
When connected to the mounting base, the 1734-RTB offers terminal positions for field wiring. Before installing the 1734-RTB terminal, care must be taken to verify that the mounting base is correctly keyed. This RTB unit is a very efficient gadget since it speeds up installation and simplifies the starting of the module's whole system. Vertical access to wire and screw terminations during installation would be very difficult without the 1734-RTB module; the 1734-RTB module offers this access to the user. It may also be placed prior to or after the completion of the mounting base installation. The 1734-RTB has many status indicators that indicate the network's state, the module's status, and the status of each output.
