The 1745-TCAT is a Bulletin 1745 Timer-Counter Access Terminal that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation. The 1745-TCAT has a display that consists of discrete Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and seven (7) segment readouts. This hardware comes standard with a keyboard containing 16 momentary push keys with tactile feedback. Additional features and specifications for the 1745-TCAT include a two-position keylock switch with cover for its keyswitch, monitor and modify modes of operation, and an error code identification table on the back of the 1745-TCAT unit and on the keyring ID tag. The 1745-TCAT uses a 6-foot long (1.8 meters) cable with plug-in connectors that mate the TCAT with the processor unit.
Additional features of the 1745-TCAT include operating power, where the 1745-TCAT receives power from the SLC 100 programmable controller via the 6-foot long interconnect cable. The 1745-TCAT allows for remote connection (up to 4000 feet) using a separate power supply that is rated at 10.8 to 26.4 Volts DC, 4 Watts. The manufacturer recommends using a Belden cable, style 9503 or equivalent. The Allen-Bradley Remote Communication Kit (1745-N2) includes the necessary DIN connectors for this process.
