Allen-Bradley's 1756-IH16I is a sink/source digital input device that has sixteen (16) independently isolated inputs. It must be linked to ControlLogix hardware through a 36-pin RTB, or replaceable terminal block cabinet, such as the 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H. This module provides isolation on a per-point basis and shows the module's healthiness, input, and communication characteristics. The 1756-IH16I operates between 90 and 146 volts DC and is classified as a 125-volt DC device. At 5.1 volts, it draws 125 milliamperes, as well as 3 milliamperes at 24 volts. The 1756-IH16I features a total backplane energy usage of 0.71 watts and a thermal dissipation rate of 17.05 BTU/hour. The module uses a screw to delay the input to the backplane as it transitions between states. Between 'off' and 'on,' the input delay time is equal to the hardware delay of 2 milliseconds plus the user-selectable filter duration, while between 'on' and 'off,' the input delay time is equal to the hardware delay of 6 milliseconds plus the user-selectable filter period.

The 1756-IH16I digital input module operates at a standard input voltage of 125 volts DC. The 1756-IH16I consumes 5 watts at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The module's minimum and maximum on-state currents are rated at 1 milliamperes at 90 volts DC and 3 milliamperes at 146 volts DC. The 1756-IH16I operates at 0.8 milliamperes in the off state and has a maximum off-state voltage of 20 volts DC. The 1756-IH16I input module is rated for open design enclosures utilizing the 1756-TBCH and 1756-TBS6H detachable terminal block housings. When not in use, the 1756-IH16I should be kept within -40 to 85 degrees Celsius and is capable of withstanding a 50 G shock. The 1756-IH16I has contact discharges up to 6 kilovolts and ESD immunity. Furthermore, the 1756-IH16I is capable of withstanding a 3 kV oscillatory surge.
