The Allen-Bradley 1756-IRT8I is an analog I/O module with high-resolution. Specifically, this module is an 8-point isolated collective temperature-sensing, as well as a millivolts-sensing input module. The module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the ControlLogix system. It requires the 36-pin removable terminal block (RTB) housing, which is compatible with both Allen-Bradley 1756-TBS6H and 1756-TBCH. This module comes with eight isolated channels which the users can use or any mixture of RTD or the thermocouple modes. It also features 2 CJC sensors for use with the thermocouple, but this is ordered separately. The unit has a local CJC sensor accuracy of +/- 0.3 degrees Celsius, which is the same as the remote CJC sensor or accuracy. Also, it has an undetermined channel sampling rate by the RPI value because the 1756-IRT8I module offers not the RTS parameter. Besides, the channels that are configured for thermocouple inputs performing lead resistance as well as self-calibration when the module power is cycled.
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IRT8I Analog I/O module comes with a wide range of features that set it apart from the rest. Some of these include; a wide range of module inputs, detection for under-range, over-range, notch filter, and temperature units. It also has the rate alarm, a digital filter, 10-ohm copper offset sensor offset, and cold junction compensation. This thermocouple wire length compensation, wire-off detection, process alarms, sensor types, and synchronized sampling; the 1756-IRT8I module also features multiple input ranges, including 1 – 500, 2 – 1000, 4 – 2000, 8 – 4000 Ohms and a -100 to 100 millivolts. This module supports a resolution of 24-bit. In standard mode, the module has a 125 dB at 60-hertz 1000 Ohms differential, as well as 120 dB at a 50-hertz frequency, differential of 1000 Ohms and 160 dB at 600 volts, differential of 100 Ohms.
