Description:

The 1756-L61 is an industrial controller. It can be used with industrial systems with an I/O module with an independent controller. Both the I/O module and the independent controllers must be housed inside a single chassis. This controller is capable of being used with platform I/O. The 1756-L61S industrial controller belongs to Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation's ControlLogix line of devices. This controller is offered in Series A & B versions, with fixed memory of 4, 2, or 8 megabytes, and non-volatile memory provided via the optional installation of a Compact Flash memory card. In addition, the controller has an optional non-volatile memory for storage backup of up to 128 MB and 2 MB of user memory and 478 KB of I/O memory. Only the 1784-CF128 flash memory is used in this controller.

1756-A4, -A10, -A7, -A13, and -A17 are the product IDs for chassis which can be used with this controller. The 1756-L61 processor module has a maximum I/O of 128,000 and a maximum analog Input/Output of 4,000 Input/2,000 Output. At 5 volts DC, the backplane current is 1.2 amperes, while at 24 volts DC, the backplane current is 14 milliamperes. The ControlLogix comes in a tiny, cost-effective form, and its flexibility improves the entire system it controls.

Users may adapt and customize the module to their own needs, resulting in considerable cost savings. The 1756-L61 controller has one RS-232 port for communication.

The 1756-L61S processor can also be used with a variety of optional communication options. For backup power, the controller accepts the 1756-BATM battery or the 1756-BA1 battery. The controller's working temperature should be between 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, which is equivalent to 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Furthermore, it should be able to withstand 10 to 500 hertz of vibration.
