The 1756-L62 is a ControlLogix controller manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the ControlLogix series and Bulletin 1756. It comes with a user memory of 4 megabytes and an I/O memory of 478 kilobytes, as well as optional nonvolatile memory storage. When using the nonvolatile memory, this controller can only use the 128 megabytes CompactFlash labeled 1784-CF128, which comes separately. It is compatible only with certain 1756 chassis, including: 1756-A7, 1756-A4, 1756-A17, 1756-A13, and 1756-A10. The 1756-L62 is available in Series A and Series B. The Allen-Bradley 1756-L62 comes with three main controller tasks, especially 100 programs per task, event tasks and 32 tasks, which are all triggers. It also comes with an inbuilt RS-132 serial port and uses different communication options. The communication options include Remote I/O, SynchLink, ControlNet, third-party process and device networks, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet and Data Highway Plus. It features serial port for communication including DF1 radio modem, ASCII, Modbus via logic, DH-485, and DF1 full/half-duplex. It supports an all-out of 250 controller connections and provides a comprehensive support to the controller redundancy.
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L62 controller comes with a maximum I/O of 128,000, analog I/O of 4000, and digital I/O of 128,000 at maximum. It features a current draw of 14 milliamps at 24 volts DC and 1200 milliamps at 5.1 volts DC. The controller also has an isolation voltage of 30 volts (continuous), and has been tested at 720 volts DC for one minute. The 1756-L62 ControlLogix Controller comes with a thermal dissipation of 11.9 BTU per hour as well as a power dissipation of 3.5 watts.
