The Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 1756-L82E logic controller forms an integral part of the ControlLogix 5580 series of controllers and is primarily a chassis-mounted device that does not need a specifically designed enclosure. This logic controller can handle up to 32 tasks and can support 1000 programs per task. A USB port and an embedded Ethernet port are provided on the device to enhance the communication capabilities of the logic controller. The logic controller unit has a maximum power dissipation of 6.2 watts and an isolation voltage of 50 volts. It is also equipped with an energy storage module that is non-removable and is embedded in the logic controller. The device offers a user memory of 5 megabytes. This memory space is non-volatile and can be used to store process data. A Secure Digital (SD) Card with a storage capacity of 2 gigabytes is also shipped with the terminal package to enhance the memory capabilities of the logic controller.
The Allen-Bradley ControlLogic 1756-L82E logic controller supports a wide array of programming languages that can be used to automate and customize several functions and processes within the control system. The controller can also be configured to communicate over multiple networks and is compatible with Ethernet, DeviceNet, and ControlNet networks.
