Part number 1756-OB16D is a ControlLogix digital I/O module, manufactured by Allen Bradley. It is part of the ControlLogix 1756 series of modules that cover many input and output applications, from high-speed control digital to process control. There are three types of digital I/O modules: diagnostic, electronic fusing and individually isolated. The 1756-OB16D is a diagnostic DC digital output type. The module enclosure type is open. This device is to be installed in a ControlLogix chassis for which a separately ordered Removable Terminal Blocks (RTB) or an interface module type 1492 (IFM) are needed. When the product is marked, it follows all major regulations and certifications like UL, CSA, CE and others.        

This device's input source is 24 volts DC and can accept a voltage range of 19.2 to 30 volts DC. This product is equipped with 16 diagnostic outputs, which are divided into two groups of 8 points. The module has a pilot duty of 2 amperes when used at 30 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit), and 1 ampere if temperature is 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). The device output delay time in the operation off to on is 60 microseconds nominal and 1 millisecond maximum, and when operating from on to off, 630 micro seconds nominal and 5 milliseconds maximum. The current draw at 5.1 volts is equal to 250 milliamperes, while at 24 volts, the current draw is 140 milliamperes. The maximum on-state voltage drop is 1.2 volts DC at 2 amperes and the surge current per point is 4 amperes for 10 milliseconds per point, repeatable every 1 second.
