The 1768-M04SE is an interface module with 4 axes. This interface module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley and is part of the SERCOS line of controllers. Using this SERCOS interface, users can integrate drives, motors, and actuators into the Kinetix motion system. For feedback, users can connect two (2) auxiliary axes and four (4) primary axes. When it comes nominal power servo drives, this interface can be used with the Kinetix 2094 6000, SERCOS 2098 Ultra3000, and the Kinetix 2093 2000. It can also be connected with the 2099 Kinetix 7000, which is a concentrated power drive. When it comes to industrial controllers, this module can be paired with the 768-L45 8 controller, as well as the 1768-L43 4 controller.

The 1768-M04SE comes equipped with SERCOS data transfer technology. This module can transfer data in the range of 4 to 8 megabytes per second. The update time required by this controller is 0.5 milliseconds. This controller can support two (2) 1768-M04SE interfaces at the same time. This controller interface can be used with the following industrial processors: the 1768-L43 and the 1768-L45. This interface can be connected with as many as four (4) external drives. For establishing the Kinetix drive connection, users can use the 1768-M04SE fiber optic cable. For connectivity, this SERCOS module can be used with any of the following cables: chlorinated polyethylene 2090-SCVPxx-0 standard cables, 2090-SCEPxx-0 non-jacketed cables, and the polyvinyl chloride 2090-SCNPxx-0 nylon cables. 

Users can conduct both position and velocity control using this interface. At 5.2 volts direct current, the backplane current rate for this interface is 969 milliamperes. Additionally, at 24 volts direct current, the backplane current rate is 0 milliamperes.
