Part number 1771-ID16 is a digital AC/DC input module. This device, which was created by the Allen-Bradley company, is part of the PLC 5 series of Allen-Bradley products. This device is capable of operating with both AC (alternating current) and DC (direct current) voltages. This product is equipped with sixteen (16) inputs. The voltage range of this device is seventy-four (74) to one hundred and thirty-eight (138) volts alternating current (AC), or one hundred and five (105) to one hundred and thirty-eight (138) volts direct current (DC), at a forty-seven (47) to sixty-three (63) hertz (Hz) frequency range. The nominal input voltage of this Allen-Bradley device is 120 volts AC/DC. The on-state voltage minimum is 64 volts AC and 105 volts DC, while the on-state current minimum is 6.0 milliamperes at 74 volts AC at a frequency of 47 to 63 hertz. Additionally, the on-state current minimum is also 1.2 milliamperes at 105 volts DC. The off-state voltage maximum is 45 volts AC and 66 volts DC. The off-state current minimum is 4.0 milliamperes at 45 volts AC at a frequency of 47 to 63 hertz, and 0.8 milliamperes at 66 volts DC. 

The Allen-Bradley 1771-ID16 has a rated power dissipation of 7.0 watts maximum and 0.3 watts minimum, while the thermal dissipation is 23.8 BTU/hr maximum and 1.0 BTU/hr minimum. The backplane current of this product is 75 milliamperes maximum. When operating this product, a temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit should be kept. When storing this product, a temperature range of -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit should be maintained. The relative humidity should remain between 5% and 95% with no condensation.
