The 1771-IXHR PLC 5 is a thermocouple millivolt analog input module by Allen Bradley Rockwell Automation. This module is a high-resolution PLC 5 unit. It is designed to transfer input data words to the PLC processor table. This processor takes place with the help of a technique known as block transfer programming. Additionally, it does not need external power for the 1771 I/0 chassis configuration; however, it only needs a single slot for the installation. The thermocouple millivolt input ranges it has a total of 8 differential floating inputs. It allows either the eight identical or four inputs with two distinct each. In addition, this thermocouple millivolt unit also contains a cold junction compensation. The unit requires a backplane current load of 750 milliamps at 5v class.
Moreover, its channel update time is 25 milliseconds per eight channels. When users are replacing the unit, it is not necessary to disconnect the wires. Furthermore, it has both high and low-temperature alarms, and both are also selectable by the users. Likewise, this unit is also capable of monitoring and diagnosing, and providing error status to the users because it comes with two indicators, a green run indicator and an FLT embedded on the top front of the unit. Besides that, it can also provide preventions against the severe damages caused by excessive voltage and current trips since it can regulate the power and, in some cases, can also disable the power to keep the device safe.
