The Allen Bradley 1771-OB is a PLC-5 Output Module with 8 channels and an input voltage of 10 to 27 volts DC. The module has 8 output circuits. The module has an output current specification of 1.5 amperes, an off-state leakage current specification of 1 milliampere per output and a maximum surge current of 4 amperes for 1 millisecond. The module has an on-state voltage drop of 2 volts DC maximum with a ON/OFF delay time of 10 milliseconds. Its power dissipation is specified as 0.9 to 16.9 watts and its thermal dissipation is 3.0 to 57.6 BTU/hr. Additionally, the module is specified for a backplane current of 165 milliamperes at 5 volts DC and its opto-electrical isolation is rated at 1500 volts AC rms.

The 1771-OB output module is designed to control the operation of devices including indicators, DC motor starters, and solenoids. The module is powered using the 1771 I/O chassis and requires 165 milliamperes of backplane current. The 1771-OB module is designed to be compatible with a DC input module (1771-IB) and can be used to directly drive terminals of the input module while maintaining the same ground. The module has maximum conductors wire sizes of 14 gauge for stranded and 3/64 inch for insulation. The output module has nine (9) built-in red status LED indicators on the front panel. They are categorized as 1 fuse blown indicator LED and 8 red LEDs for status indication of the 8 input circuits. Each input is equipped with an individual fuse for protection of power supply.
