This 1771-WI PLC-5 series thermocouple wiring arm is made by Allen-Bradley. A high-resolution thermocouple / millivolt I/O module is equipped to this wiring arm. This device includes a total of 18 ports and is located on the bottom of the 1771 frame. These ports provide connections for the outputs and inputs of the modules to which they are linked. This module has an I/O connection capability of up to 8 modules. The 1771-WI connects the chassis wire to the high-resolution thermocouple I/O units in a simple and practical manner. It is made of a 14-gauge stranded wire with a 3/64-inch-thick insulation. These serve as base conductors, and they have a gold conformal coating.
The 1771-WI is not fused and is utilized in high-resolution thermocouple applications. It features a 7- to 9-pound-per-inch optimal field-arm screw torque and weighs around 0.3 pounds, or the equivalent of 0.1 kilograms. Plant cabling and 1771 I/O devices may be easily and flexibly connected using wire arms. The built-in I/O chassis clamp may be swung away for easy access to the modules. A module-locking tab included inside the module which helps to ensure connection integrity. Entering wires may be fastened directly to the arm or spade lugged. The 1771-WI offers fuse shielding for each module output, allowing fuse replacement without removing the module from the chassis. During installation, users may change fuses by removing a single fuse holder without removing the output module. This device should be operated in an environment where the temperature ranges from 0 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius.
