The Allen Bradley 1771-WN is a rugged piece of equipment intended for use in industrial regions with a pollution level of degree 2. This contact output module from the Bulletin 1771 series of products is designed for use in overvoltage Category II activities, where it is limited to switching resistive loads. This 1771 I/O chassis clamp is designed to allow for a 'swing-away' movement, which simplifies module access. A locking tab on the rear of the module adds to the module's connection integrity. The 1771-WN is made of industrial-grade thermoplastic and has a single connection point for each necessary input or output, as well as any extra connections required for line and input signal power and ground or return.
The fused wiring arm provides the maximum degree of fuse safety for all outputs and enables the unit to be repaired without removing it from its chassis, which is very handy. The loss of a single circuit has no impact on any of the other signals in this 16-output module. The module is capable of switching all 32 outputs simultaneously, isolating loads up to 12A per module. The power source for the input/output dashboard consumes a maximum of 2.5 amps from the I/O chassis power supply. In its normal configuration, this unit's backplane current flow is rated at 1.8 amps. This device has a typical AC off signal delay of 29 milliseconds, plus or minus 8 milliseconds. Additionally, this device has a typical DC off signal delay of 30 milliseconds, plus or minus 7 milliseconds.
