The 1785-L80E is an EtherNet enabled programmable controller manufactured by Allen Bradley as part of the PLC-5/80E controller series. It comes with 100K words of user memory as well as an I/O capacity of 3072 which is used in factory floors to control the field device processes linked to it. The 1785-L80E controller is placed at 1771 I/O chassis’ leftmost slot and it operates on a backplane current of 3.6 amperes 5 volts DC, and also dissipates a heat of 65 BTU per hour during operation. This controller uses the 1770-XYC battery module as well as memory modules with lithium battery backup including the 1785-M100, 1785-ME, 161785-ME32, or 1785-ME64. Allen Bradley 1785-L80E supports 8-, 16-, 32-point, as well as 1771 intelligent I/O modules. The device features an internal circuit clock with an accuracy variation of ± 5 min per month with a rated operational temperature of 0 – 60 degrees Celsius at non-condensing humidity 5 – 95 percent with no derating. It weighs approximately 3.0 pounds and has an open enclosure.
