An Allen Bradley product, the 1786-RPA is part of the 1786-RPA/B ControlNet Modular Repeater Adapter. To build the repeater adapter with a Control network module, the 1786-RPA should be installed with certain modules which are 1786-RPFM, 1786-RPCD, 1786-RPFS, 1786-RPFRXL, or 1786-RPFRL and these parts are the repeater medium-distance fiber module, repeater dual-copper module, the repeater short-distance fiber module, fiber ring repeater module, and fiber ring repeater module respectively. To lengthen a network, a repeater should be used by creating a star or a ring or a point-to-point topology. The repeater also has the feat in which there is the conversion of network media from fiber to copper, and vice versa. To place the repeaters in series, there can only be 20 repeater adapters maximum. The repeater adapter also has the ability to provide ControlNet network data a digital retiming, the ability to power repeater modules, it has a single coax channel, has indicators that give the status of the repeater, and a power supply of 24 Volts (V) Direct Current (DC) which is removable. The repeater adapter comes with items that include a single removable terminal block of power connector that is attached to the repeater adapter, a single terminator of 75 Ohms that can be used to terminate a port that is unused, and two DIN rail locks.
There are three status indicators which are blinking green, blinking red, and off. A combination of these can tell the status of the repeater. The mounting dimensions of the repeater are 127 millimeters in length by 102 millimeters in width by 69 millimeters by depth.
