With a 420-ampere current rating, the 100-D420ED11 is a heavy-duty non-reversing contactor from Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation. The contactor is designed to control motor control systems, allowing for start and stop capabilities. This contactor is capable of handling a power rating of 400 horsepower at 575 volts AC. With two (2) auxiliary contacts, users can easily handle switching using the electronic coil rated at 110 volts DC. The coil is electronic with an integrated diode. The coil can activate the normally open (N.O.) contact in the contactor and closing it when the coil is energized. It can also open the normally closed (N.C.) contact when the coil is energized, hence breaking the circuit. All coil terminals are located on the Lineside. There are three (3) poles on this contactor with threaded screw terminals. Extra terminals can be added using the external terminal kit accessory.
It is recommended by the manufacturer to install this device in a well-protected environment since it does not have a water or dust-proof protection rating. Using the contactor in a high-temperature area is also not recommended as the maximum recommended temperature rating declared by the manufacturer is 60 degrees Celsius. Various accessories are supported with this model, such as a terminal lug kit, IP20 terminals, surge suppressors, electronic timers, electrical and mechanical latches. A Phillips screwdriver is recommended to access the screw terminals when connecting them to the system. Taking caution and following the manual is highly recommended to avoid serious injury. All the contactors come in a single-pack configuration.
