Spectrum Controls designed, manufactured, and distributed this analog input module. Given the part number 1769sc-IF8U, this Spectrum Controls module can support or accept a broad variety of analog input signals, the list of which is inclusive of current and voltage, along with resistance and an RTD, or resistance temperature detector, and the Thermocouple inputs. To add to that, the 1769sc-IF8U module by Spectrum Controls is also well suited with MicroLogix 1500 controllers and the 1769 CompactLogix product line. Aside from that, for backplane isolation, this module can supply up to five hundred (500) volts of direct current (DC). The ground isolation is five hundred (500) volts direct current (DC) channel to chassis, and the isolation is ten (10) volts direct current (DC) channel to channel. The 1769sc-IF8U has a continuous input over-current protection of twenty-eight (28) milliamperes and a continuous input over-voltage protection of thirty (30) volts direct current (DC). The backplane current draw on this device is one hundred and fifty (150) milliamperes at five (5) volts and forty-five (45) milliamperes at twenty-four (24) volts, resulting in exceptionally low operating expenditures. Only four (4) input channels are accessible when RTD inputs are connected; otherwise, the module may take up to eight (8) simultaneous input signals in any combination. This removes the need for various modules to handle diverse forms of input, lowering system costs. This module features a sixteen (16)-bit resolution and an output update rate of 10, 50, 60, 250, or 1000 hertz. This device is DIN-rail mounted and occupies only one chassis space.
