The IC694MDL940 consists of 16 non-isolated normal type open relay circuits. The IC694MDL940 module has an operating voltage of 24 Volts DC and each output has a switching capacity of 2 Amperes. The output points are classified into 4 with each group comprised of 4 points and each group has a common output terminal for power. Each internal relay circuit is powered by providing + 24 Volt DC bus on the backplane. Each output is illustrated by using an LED indicator which exhibits the status of whether the particular output is on or off. The red band's label in the module portrays it as a high voltage module. It can be easily installed in any Input-Output slot in an RX3i system.

One of the main characteristic elements of this IC694MDL940 module is the fast response time. The maximum response time for on and off is 15 milliseconds and this module is also fuse free which makes it more compatible. The power consumption of the module is 7 milliamperes from 5 Volt bus and 135 milliamperes from 24 Volt relay. The frequency associated with the module is 50/60 Hertz. When this IC694MDL940 module is used with DC power supply like IC695PSD040 or PSD140, precautions should be taken because dropouts in the source voltage will be seen by the module and can cause relay dropouts. The field wiring of this module comprises of 20 terminals and the relay output of this module is used to regulate the various field devices that are the load equipment like motors starters, solenoid valves, indicators, etc.
