The IC695ALG708 is a Non-Isolated Analog Voltage/Current Output module. It is manufactured by GE Fanuc and is part of the Series 90-70 PACSystem RX3i series. The IC695ALG708 provides the operator with 8 configurable voltage or current output channels and can be configured for the following output ranges: Current = 0 to 20 milliamperes, 4 to 20 milliamperes; Voltage = +/- 10 Volts, 0 to 10 Volts. This module is compatible with the box-style IC694TBB032, the extended box-style IC694TBB132, the spring-style IC694TBS032, and the extended spring-style IC694TBS132 terminal blocks. By utilizing extended terminal blocks, the operator can provide extra shroud depth that is needed for shielded wiring. When this module is used with the terminal blocks mentioned previously, they are required to be located in an RX3i Universal Backplane and must have an RX3i CPU with firmware of 3.0 or later.
Specifications for the IC695ALG708 include a backplane power requirement of 375 milliamperes maximum at 3.3 Volts, a power dissipation of 7.25 Watts maximum, and an external power supply voltage range between +19.2 Volts and +30 Volts DC; current required for the IC695ALG708 is 250 milliamperes maximum. This module has an update rate of 8 milliseconds, which is determined by I/O scan time and is application dependent. Calibration is accurate to within 0.15% of full scale at 25 degrees Celsius and within 0.30% of full scale at 60 degrees Celsius. Maximum current output load is 850 Ohms maximum while maximum voltage output load is 2K Ohms minimum. The IC695ALG708 has a field to backplane isolation of 2550 Volts DC for one second.
The IC695ALG708 must be powered by an external power source supplying 24 VDC. This external source must be connected directly to the terminal block of the module and connect be connected by the TB1 connector on the backplane. The module has three indicator lights on its face. The module's ok LED light shows the status of the module. The field status LED shows whether the external power supply is present and is above the minimum level, as well as indicating operators to any faults that may be present. Lastly, the TB LED indicator alerts operators to whether or not a terminal block has been installed in the module and whether it is experiencing any issues or not. Each of these power supplies provides its own resolution. At 10 VDC, the module has a resolution of 15.9 bits, while the resolution from 0 to 10 VDC is 14.9 bits. In the current range of 0 to 20 mA, the resolution is 15.9 bits, and the resolution is 15.6 bits when the current output is in the 4 to 20 mA range. The output data from the module can be configured as floating-point IEEE 32-bit or 16-bit integer in a 32-bit field. The IC695ALG708 has no thermal derating while in voltage mode. With a voltage output, the module has a typical output gain drift of 20 ppm per degree Celsius. With a current output, the module’s output gain drift is 35 ppm per degree Celsius, typically. The module offers no shield terminal, but if one is added, it should be done on the ground bar along the bottom of the backplane.
