The IC693CBL302 is an expansion cable by GE Fanuc Automation. This accessory is known as an I/O bus expansion or Wye cable. The module is designed to work with the GE Fanuc 90-30 Series. The length of this cable is 50 feet (15 meters). It has a single male connector on the CPU baseplate end and a single terminated male connector on the expansion baseplate cable. The I/O expansion cables help extend the I/O bus to the expansion. These expansion cables also help remote baseplates in a product family of 90-30 I/O systems. It often happens when an incremental I/O slot or baseplate is required over some distance from the CPU baseplate. The IC693CBL302 comes as a pre-wired I/O bus expansion for connecting either remote base plates or expansions. In the case that the users do not find the cable in the right length, an additional cable as a custom alternative may be used. Since the IC693CBL302 supports Wye adapter cables, it can allow for custom-built cables. In addition, the IC693CBL302 also comes with inbuilt termination resistors that help to connect the expansion base plate connector. Users can also build their custom cables with the help of termination resistors, wired at the appropriate pins for the configuration at the end of the bus. However, users ought to take precautions while attempting connection and disconnection of the cables while the I/O expansion baseplate power is on. Similarly, users must first disconnect from the power source before they configure this whole process.
