The GE Fanuc Emerson IC693CMM301 is a Genius communications device. This unit offers global data links between 90-30 PLCs and seven modules over a Genius bus. This GCM can be easily mounted on a remote baseplate, baseplate, or expansion baseplate. The device can be employed to control data in an industrial environment. The IC693CMM301 can send real-time control data at high speed by employing a noise immune network. This GCM can communicate with another GCM through a Genius I/O serial bus. The module has two LED indicators that are located on the faceplate to show the module and communication status. The 90–30 PLC can only support a single IC693CMM301 GCM. The device requires a host PLC program.

The IC693CMM301 supports a global data length of 256 bits. The GCM supports also a non-condensing relative humidity range from 5 percent to 95 percent. This unit can be stored at -40 degrees to 70 degrees Celsius (-40 degrees to 158 degrees Fahrenheit) in a secure environment that is free from corrosive material. The module offers sixteen to twenty-three bus addresses for global data. The device has an operating feature for the mechanical shock level of 30 g. The unit has also a storage characteristic for the mechanical shock level of 50 g. The IC693CMM301 supports a vibration frequency range from 10 hertz to 2 kilohertz.
