The GE Fanuc Emerson IC697BEM711 is a bus receiver module that offers the possibility to get seven (7) extra IC697 PLC racks from the main rack by employing a cable with a length of 15 meters (50 feet). This module can be easily mounted in slot 1 and occupies only a single slot. The device has two connectors. The first connector is employed to either the upstream or the CPU rack. The second one is employed for a daisy chained configuration to extra expansion racks. The IC697BEM711 draws a current of 800 milliamperes at a voltage of +5 volts DC. This unit can communicate with a data rate of 500 kilobytes per second. The bus receiver module holds the last state function of the output modules when the communication with the CPU is lost. The module offers the isolation to troubleshoot a faulty module within a rack.

The IC697BEM711 includes three LED indicators on the faceplate to show the current module status, rack activity status, and the presence of the I/O bus terminator plug. The BRM module can be removed or inserted under power. The unit can be programmed and configured through either MS-DOS or Windows. The IC697BEM711 supports a non-condensing relative humidity range from 5 percent to 95 percent and a vibration frequency range from 10 hertz to 500 hertz.
