The IC697CHS790 is a nine (9) slot Rear Mount Rack Module from the GE Fanuc 90-70 Series for IC697 PLCs used for CPU and I/O configurations. The standard 9-slot rack has only one power supply capacity that is located at the leftmost position. The rear mount rack IC697CHS790 mounts in a 10-inch deep enclosure where fans are not required. The dimensions of the rack are 11.15 inches in height, 19 inches in width, and 7.5 inches in depth with the width of the controller slot being 1.6 inches and the width of the supply slot being 2.4 inches. Each rack includes a feature of sensing the slot for rack type I/O for IC697 Programmable Logic Controllers. I/O modules don’t require any jumpers or switches.

Mounting of the IC697CHS790 mount rack requires enough space allowing proper cooling of the system modules. The requirements for mounting of the rack should meet the application requirements and the right rack should be used. The mounting flanges of the rack are factory installed in the side panels conveniently. The I/O modules of the IC697 interlock by using a key to avoid unintended interchange of module type for another type of module. Each module has a key that latches on mechanically to the center rail, where it will stay until the module is uninstalled. If the module is of the wrong type, it will not fit into the rack slot. When there are multiple racks in the system, each rack should be assigned a number between 0 to 7, while the CPU rack should always be numbered 'zero' (0). The number of the rack is determined by the PLC from the jumpers on the backplane of the rack.
