The GE Fanuc Emerson IC697CMM742 is a TCP/IP Ethernet interface type 2 module that can be employed for the Series 90-70 of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The IC697CMM742 offers three (3) ports which are 10Base2 with BNC connector, 10BaseT with RJ-45 connector, and AUI with 15-pin D-connector for communication between Ethernet LAN and IC697 PLC. The IC697CMM742 10Base2 and 10BaseT ports offer a direct link to either 10Base2 or 10BaseT networks without the need of an external transceiver. The IC697CMM742 15-pin AUI port permits to choose between different mediums such as 10BaseT, 10Base2, 10Base5, 10Broad36, and 10BaseF medium with 802.3 compatible transceivers selected by the user. The IC697CMM742 firmware can be loaded and upgraded from PC through the RS-485 serial port. The IC697CMM742 is a single slot CPU that can be programmed and configured through the IC641 PLC programming software.
The IC697CMM742 offers high-efficiency TCP/IP communication employing SRTP for the IC697 PLC and exchanges data employing logic and configuration-based EGD. The IC697CMM742 senses, detects, and selects automatically the network port in the process.
