The IC200ETM001 module by GE Fanuc is an expansion connector module. It belongs to the VersaMax family of products. Its main function is to expand a PLC or an NIU input output station so that seven racks of modules can be included where each individual rack has the capacity to connect eight input/output modules. The expansion rack can also use specialty modules such as fieldbus communications modules. The backplane current for this module for an output of 5 V is recorded as 44 mA maximum. On the front side of the module, there is an expansion connector present. This connector is a 26 pin female D-shell connector. Its main function is to connect to an expansion receiver module. The expansion receiver module may be an isolated one or a non-isolated one depending upon the application. The data rate depends upon the length of the expansion cable. It is to be noted that by default it operates at a data rate of 250 Kbits/second at maximum expansion cable length. The IC200ETM001 is also embedded with a 16 pin male connector. This connector is located on the left side of the expansion transmitter and can be used to upload firmware updates to an adjacent NIU. LEDs are present on the front side of the module that indicate the power status as well as the status of the expansion port. All installation guidelines are to be followed during the installation process. If they are not followed, accurate results cannot be achieved. The module can easily be fixed to the DIN rail without using any extra tools for mounting or grounding.
