Allen-Bradley 1756-L63

The 1756-L63 is a ControlLogix controller manufactured by Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation, and it is available in Series A and B versions. It is part of the Allen Bradley ControlLogix series and can perform three major controller tasks, including 100 programs per task, 32 programs per task, and event tasks, and all are event-trigger tasks. The 1756-L63 controller has a continuous isolation voltage of 30 volts, with a basic insulation type. The unit is type-tested at 720 volts DC for 60 seconds. It comes with a power dissipation of 3.5 watts and thermal dissipation of 11.9 BTU per hour. It also has a current draw of 1200 milliamps at 5.1 volts DC and 14 milliamps at 24 volts DC. Allen Bradley 1756-L63 ControlLogix controller has full support for the controller redundancy, with the exemption of motion applications. Also, it can support a total of 250 controller connections. The 1756-L63 controller comes with a memory capacity of 8 megabytes for data and logic storage and a memory capacity of 478 kilobytes input and output. Users can add an extra backup memory for this controller. The only non-volatile memory that can be used is Allen-Bradley 128 megabytes 1784-CF128 CompactFlash memory card. It also features maximum analog input and output count of 4000 with maximum digital input and output count as well as total input and output count of 128,000. The 1756-L63 ControlLogix controller features an inbuilt RS-132 serial communication port. Some of the communication options this controller uses include the SynchLink, ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, and the third-party process and device networks.

Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation manufactured the 1756-L63 processor module. The processor is available in two series: Series A and Series B. The 1756-L63 can execute 32 separate commands and event commands for all pre-programmed event triggers. This task is some of the essential controller duties that this module can handle. However, the controller may only be used with a 128 MB 1784-CF128 compact memory card.

The 1756-L63 controller has an RS-132 port built-in, but it also has various communication modules like ControlNet, SynchLink, and Data Highway Plus, to mention a few. Users may select and choose the best communication module for them and swap between modules as needed.
